 Dan's thoughts before, during, and after the writing of this prayer...

 A prayer should have a meaningful purpose so we can use it as a tool to work on our past, present, and future. It needs to be a tool that will help us better ourselves. It might even need to come with an instruction guide.

We all could use a little more happiness by being a better person. It's my belief that only comes if we are willing to make it a priority to be good to ourselves. I also know it will take a little work on my part.

Please take the opportunity to do this exercise as often as you feel the need to. You can and will be a better person for it. Keep this prayer close by so you can review it often. It's just a simple fact that the more we let life's irritations pile up - the more we need to turnover something's to God.

Thank God we have choices...

"10 minutes" of being good to myself time is all you need...

To use any tool - you must be willing to put some effort into it.

Make sure that you are in a quiet place and its a good time to read this prayer before you start.

Okay, get a pen and a piece paper to use during this exercise.

Let me put a little emphasis on this. "It works best if you take a little pause after each line and think about what comes to mind --- write it down"

Now that you have read the prayer. Think about the good things, and the not-so-good-things that came to mind. (go back and read it again - if needed)

Ponder on your thoughts for a little bit, because - like it or not - they are a part of you

You should feel proud of your accomplishments and get rid of those things that are dragging you down (DYD)

NOW Write Down All The Things That Are  DYD's.  (go back and read it again - if needed)

Okay - add that last one, you know - it's that hard to write one.
